Job Descriptions

FGCU Students

Students are expected to attend all orientation sessions and all 10 days of the program. They will stay on the reservations in homes made available by tribal members.

Responsibilities include:
Reading about mentoring, language experience, and Seminole culture before beginning.
Writing self-learning goals.
Working as a partner with a Seminole aide.
Develop reading exercises that relate to Seminole culture.
Develop math exercises that relate to Seminole culture.
Keep a daily journal of experience
Collaborate as a team at the end of the day to assess experience and plan activities for the next day.
Learn to teach mentoring to students to teach other students.
Participating in assessments.
Criteria:
An interest in cross-cultural teaching.
Imagination
Flexability
Appreciation of other cultures
Currently enrolled in FGCU
Be recommended by a faculty member

Seminole Aides

Seminole teachers are expected to attend both orientation sessions and all 10 days of the program.
