Student Employment Opportunities

Your leadership can benefit other students

The center selects tutors, Supplemental Instruction Leaders and Peer Academic Leaders to help shape an environment that supports all students' academic and personal development.

These positions are crucial to the success of the CAA, so we appoint individuals whose skills, interests and experiences are best suited for them. Review the expectations, duties, benefits and selection process for each position.

Peer Academic Leader

We select a group of undergraduate leaders to serve as mentors and enrich the academic performance of mentees in and beyond the classroom. The selected PALs can be assigned to courses such as the fall/spring SLS 1501 - Effective Learning course or the Step Ahead program over the summer. As a PAL, students will facilitate the development of mentees' self-awareness as a means of both personal and academic success. The PAL is trained to provide guidance, resources, structure and accountability for mentees.
