Dr. Nolan joined FGCU in August 1999. She served as the Associate Director of the FGCU School of Nursing from 2003-2006 and she has served as the Director of the School since January 2011. Dr. Nolan holds a B.S. in Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York and a M.S. in Nursing, with a concentration in medical/surgical nursing-cardiopulmonary, from the University of Rochester, New York. Her Ph.D. was completed at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Nolan has had a substantive career as a Nurse Educator and Administrator in Australia and the U.S. along with an extensive background as an evidence-based practice and nursing research consultant. She has clinical experience in mental health nursing, acute care, community nursing, and home health. Dr. Nolan was a W.K. Kellogg Nursing Fellow and is a current Fellow of the Australian College of Nursing (FACN).
