Ashley is originally from Georgia but has made Fort Myers her adopted home with her husband, daughter, and three dogs. She has been at FGCU, in some capacity, since 2008 and has a deep understanding of the FGCU community and culture. Ashley describes teaching at FGCU as her “dream job” because of the passion and academic quality of the FGCU students and faculty. Her research interests include how nature connectedness and mindfulness can increase psychological well-being in college students, how contemplative practices can facilitate psychological health, and how strength-based instruction can facilitate transformational learning.
