Doug Carothers, EdD, is a Professor of Special Education and the Principal Investigator for the Soaring Eagle Academy. He holds a BA in Business Administration from Ohio Northern University and both the MEd and EdD in Special Education from Florida Atlantic University. He has practical experience working with individuals with every type of disability, at all ages from pre-school to geriatric, and in every setting from hospitals to public schools and universities. He has taught K – 12 students with disabilities in Florida and California and served on the faculty of Radford University (Virginia), the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, and Florida Gulf Coast University. His research interests focus primarily on assessment and transition.
