Dr. Levente Pap is an assistant professor at FGCU and specialized in molecular sensory technologies development. Over the last 15 years, he gained research experience in the field of spectroscopy, analytical, inorganic chemistry, and toxicology which are frequently utilized in his research.
Dr. Pap received 30+ awards, scholarships, and fellowships. Currently, Dr. Pap is developing toxin detection and monitoring systems to identify different environmental stressors remotely and rapidly. He utilizes Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopic methods to identify natural toxins. Over the last four years, Dr. Pap has been conducting research on red tide mitigation methods and technologies to create an affordable and environmentally safe solution for this devastating event. These interdisciplinary innovations include the development of portable sensory technologies, and water quality improvement technologies. Currently, Dr. Pap is an active member of the American Chemical Society and the Hungarian Academy of Science.
