Digital Media Design I
Introduction to Digital Media and Digital Media Design I are the two gateway courses to the DMD major. Typically taken in the 2nd or 3rd year, these courses prepare the student for electives and advanced topics in the DMD major. Students gain their first exposure to digital media with basic concepts such as pixel-based drawing with the Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere. Students are also introduced to media theory including aesthetics and visual literacy.
Projects in DMD 1 are designed to give you the theory and practice of working with digital illustration. From DMD 1 students can pursue further topics in graphic design, typography, web design, animation, interactive design or video games.
