Overview
At FGCU, students in the College of Education have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world educational settings throughout their program.
The program is organized into five blocks, four of which include hands-on learning experiences. From the beginning, teacher candidates are immersed in the culture and routines of classroom environments aligned with their areas of study.
Students are encouraged to discuss and plan these experiences during their semester advising appointments.
During Blocks 1 and 2 (junior year), teacher candidates participate in classroom-based learning one day per week. In Blocks 4 and 5 (senior year), students complete their program through clinical experiences and internships that correspond to their major.
