Set up Duo Two-Factor Authentication on more than one phone
You are encouraged to set up Duo Two-Factor Authentication on more than one phone in case your mobile phone is not available or you are not at your
office phone. Use the Manage Devices feature to add, remove, or change the devices that Duo can use to verify who you
are. When logging in, you can choose which line Duo will send the authentication request
to (via smart phone app or phone call depending on your choice. ITS recommends use of the Duo app on your mobile phone as your first authentication option.
Enroll in Password Reset
Managing your password cannot be done off campus unless you are enrolled in the Password
Reset portal. Please visit our Password Reset portal to enroll before leaving campus.
Save needed work files to OneDrive
OneDrive: All students, faculty, and staff have access to OneDrive with 5TB of storage. With
OneDrive, you can sync files between your computer and the Cloud, so you can get to
your files from anywhere - your desktop computer via the desktop client, your mobile
device via the OneDrive app, or even by logging in to Webmail. Move any files needed
to OneDrive before you leave campus and you can access the latest version of your
files from any location or device as long as you’re connected to the Internet.
When you save your files in OneDrive cloud file storage options be sure to use your "Work or school account"
Do not store Restricted Data on OneDrive.
Get your FGCU laptop up-to-date
If you use a FGCU provided computer remotely, bring it to the ITS Help Desk to ensure
it is updated so you will have all the necessary software and security patches to
keep you up and running, and protected.
Setup MyVPN
If you need to remotely connect to your office computer, set up MyVPN access now. For
instructions on setting up MyVPN please see our MyVPN instructions.
In order to connect to your office computer remotely, your office computer must be powered on. ITS highly recommends that you test the connection to your office computer before
you leave campus.
When using MyVPN, please take proper security measures on your home computer before
connecting to FGCU resources. Install all the updates for your operating system,
have an updated antivirus application installed and a firewall enabled. If you don't,
your computer is at risk for infection with a virus, worm, or other malware which
might prevent you from finishing your tasks and put your information at risk.
