Anthony Myles serves as Education Coordinator II for the Golisano Intellectual and Developmental Disability Initiative at Florida Gulf Coast University. He supports the development and promotion of educational programming, professional training, workshops, web-based and hybrid learning, curriculum resources, community outreach, and partnerships across FGCU and Southwest Florida. His professional history is unusually broad, spanning higher education, film and video production, communications, marketing, special education, behavioral services, curriculum development, and fine-art photography. That variety has given him a practical understanding of how people learn, how organizations communicate, and how complicated information can be utilized without eroding everything that makes it human.

Before joining GIDDI, Anthony spent over two decades in film and media production, contributing to nearly 800 independent, commercial, corporate, documentary, educational, music video, and narrative projects. His work has included directing, cinematography, writing, producing, and post-production. At Full Sail University, he taught cinematography and 35mm feature-film production, developed curriculum, instructed more than 1,000 students, and supervised more than 90 student thesis films. The work required equal fluency in creative problem-solving, technical instruction, production logistics, and the delicate art of helping large groups of people complete difficult projects on schedule.

Anthony’s experience as the parent of a son with autism led him to redirect his career toward special education and behavioral services. He worked as an Exceptional Student Education Employment Specialist for the School District of Lee County, supporting students with intellectual, developmental, behavioral, and physical exceptionalities through employment preparation, community-based instruction, accommodations, and individualized educational planning. He later worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, providing therapy in public-school classrooms, clinical environments, and real-world community settings. Those experiences continue to shape his approach to accessibility, individualized support, evidence-informed education, and the difference between a program as designed and a program that's actually functional. Before moving to GIDDI, he managed communications, marketing, multimedia production, workshop promotion, and client storytelling for the Florida SBDC at FGCU.

Anthony earned a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies with a concentration in psychology from FGCU, graduating summa cum laude, and previously earned a degree in Film and Video Production from Full Sail University, where he graduated as salutatorian. His fine-art photography, created entirely on film using large-format, medium-format, 35mm, pinhole, infrared, and hand-processed techniques, has appeared in five solo exhibitions and fourteen group exhibitions. He received the 2016 Fort Myers Artist Grant and was featured in the Alliance for the Arts’ Artist Studio Tour. Outside of FGCU, he writes, continues his photographic work, preserves physical film media, and maintains an extensive personal library whose organizational logic remains known only to him.
