Dr. Christopher Endrinal is an Assistant Professor of Music in the Bower School of Music and the Arts at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he teaches the core undergraduate music theory and aural skills sequence. His primary research specialty is form and meaning/interpretation in popular music, specifically in the music of Irish rock band U2. In addition to published articles and book chapters on U2’s music, Dr. Endrinal has also presented on popular music and U2 at various regional, national, and international conferences, including Music Theory Southeast (MTSE), the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA), the Society for Music Theory (SMT), the German Society for Popular Music (GfPM), and the U2 Conference. Additionally, he is staff writer for the fan site @U2 (atu2.com) where he contributes written opinion pieces, analytical essays, and podcast recordings on the band’s music, videos, and other work.
