Originally from New York, Dr. Papkov has lived in Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and China. After serving in a visiting position at the University of Houston – Clear Lake campus, he joined Florida Gulf Coast University in 2009. From 2011-2013, he taught statistics at a liberal arts college in China before returning to FGCU. Since returning, Dr. Papkov has expanded the Honors Program to an Honors College while serving as Procedural Chair of the Honors Executive Board, enabled data-driven decision making in the Honors College in his role as the Interim Associate Director, created two little boys and adapted to living with alopecia and psoriasis. For leisure, he enjoys running, cycling, traveling, hanging out at parks and playgrounds with his family, and reading fantasy novels about magic and adventure.
