Jim Goin Profile

Jim Goin, who joined FGCU in September 2010, is an award-winning media executive with over 40 years of experience in newspaper, cable, radio and television broadcasting and video production.

He has contributed to the Southwest Florida broadcast landscape since 1981 as an executive producer, production and promotion manager, news director, documentary producer, medical and educational video producer and live sports producer and director for both national and regional media outlets.

Most recently, Jim was the Senior Producer and Director at WGCU Public Media, Southwest Florida’s PBS affiliate, where he created The FGCU Sports Report, and was on the original team to begin streaming FGCU Basketball from Alico Arena for ESPN.

Jim is now managing all streaming services for FGCU’s expanding ESPN+ offerings, as well as managing the EagleVision scoreboards and LED video displays for FGCU Athletics venues at Alico Arena, Swanson Stadium, The Softball Complex as well as Pickering Field and the Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center.

In his spare time, Jim enjoys spending time with his family, landscaping, photography, writing and restoring his vintage Jeep Cherokee.
