Kim, Jong-Yeop (Ph.D., PE)
Dr. Jong-Yeop Kim joined FGCU as Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering, Department of Environmental and Civil Engineering in January 2009. Dr. Jong-Yeop Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Environmental Engineering from Ajou University, South Korea in 1998, and received his M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003. While he pursued a Master of Science degree in Georgia Tech, he worked in stormwater and wastewater treatment industry in Columbus, GA. Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida in 2006. Prior to his appointment at FGCU, Dr Kim worked as Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Associate for Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. His current research interests include unit operations and processes for stormwater and wastewater, stormwater BMPs and TMDL analysis, sampling methods, source control for metals, and nutrients (P, N), disinfection processes. To date, Dr. Kim has presented at several national level conferences and published in various scientific/engineering journals such as: Water Research, Journal of Environmental Engineering-ASCE, Journal of Hydrology, and Transportation Research Board.
