Antonio, Lorie

Assistant Director, Academic Advising

    Lorie Antonio joined Florida Gulf Coast University in 2004. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Advising for the Lutgert College of Business and the Daveler & Kauanui School of Entrepreneurship at Florida Gulf Coast University, a role she has held since 2024. Prior to this, she served as an Academic Advisor III in the Lutgert College of Business Advising since 2016, where she supported student success and academic planning.

    Earlier in her career at FGCU, she served for eight years (beginning in 2008) as an Academic Advisor in the College of Health Professions & Social Work. Before that, in 2007, she worked with the FGCU Center for Academic Achievement, contributing to student retention initiatives, the Eagles Wing Mentoring Program, and the Reading Connections course. She also served for three years with the Center for Positive Aging, within the College of Health Professions, as a Rehabilitation Specialist and Research Assistant specializing in recreational therapy.

    Prior to her tenure at FGCU, she held several positions as a Recreational Therapist in long-term care settings, specializing in therapeutic interventions for older adults with memory loss.

    She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport. She is an active member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
