
Figueiredo Muller, Marina (Ph.D.)
Dr. Muller is currently an instructor at Florida Gulf Coast university (FGCU) in the
Department of Construction Management, teaching Construction Drawing , Graphic Communication,
Building Information Modeling, Construction Finance, Construction Methods Improvement,
Structures for Construction and Sustainable Constructions.
She taught at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) for 11 years. She
has experience teaching Building Information Modeling (BIM), cast-in-place concrete
structures, vector mechanics and construction practices for the undergraduate civil
engineering course and post-graduate construction management programs. She was likewise
a temporary professor at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUCminas),
teaching bridges design, airport structures and harbors and waterways at the BIM infrastructure
post-graduate program. She also consults on BIM education for various Brazilian companies.
Her main research area is BIM interoperability, where she explores interoperability
for sustainability and structural design, as well as processes models and ontologies.
Her main current projects are the development of a Data Dictionary for bridges in
partnership with the University of Florida and a project for accessibility for blind
and visually impaired people in the construction industry. Another of her research
fields is BIM in education.
