Min, Sang Ki
Dr. Sangki Min joined FGCU as the Assistant Vice President for Planning and Institutional
Performance on the first of June 2022. The areas under his leadership are Institutional
Research, Accreditation, Program Review, and Assessment.
Prior to joining FGCU, Dr. Min has been the Assistant Vice President of Institutional
Effectiveness and Quality Improvement at Fort Hays States University since 2016. Before
that, he held a similar position (Dean of Institutional Services) at Kansas City Kansas
Community College, stepping through progressively higher leadership positions at that
institution from 2002-2016.
He has served as Accreditation Liaison for a number of years at his previous institutions
that are under the jurisdiction of Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an accreditation
body of Midwest region. He also has experience working with Workday and led the transition
of IR reporting environment from a legacy student information system to Workday Reporting
and Prism Analytics.
After receiving his Ph.D. in Economics from Iowa State University in 1993, Dr. Min
held faculty positions at Keimyung University (South Korea) and the University of
Missouri-Kansas City. He taught courses in economics, econometrics, international
trade, and other fields at former institutions. He has published several reports and
manuscripts in areas of importance to FGCU, such as improving student learning in
mathematics, online education, student success in challenging courses and flexible
scheduling. He is a certified Java programmer, fluent in Structured Query Language
(SQL), and uses R, Python, SAS, and Tableau as his favorite tools for data analysis
and visualization.
