Bentley, Terea (M.S.)

Research Lab Coordinator II
The Water School

AB9 0344
CV/Resume

As a laboratory technician for The Water School, Terea works to support faculty research. Her current projects include antibody detection and quantification of algal toxins and nutrient analysis for a variety of research projects. She also enjoys assisting with student research--teaching them how to operate instruments and to perform analyses.

Terea joined The Water School as a Ph.D. candidate in Plant Science with an emphasis in Virology from the University of Arkansas, where she earned a master's degree in Plant Pathology. Her research focused on discovery, sequencing, and characterization of novel mycoviruses. She has also worked extensively in identification and characterization of filamentous fungi and environmental interactions.

When she isn't in the lab, Terea enjoys reading to her four kids (with silly voices) and encouraging them to be curious about the world around them. The common thread that runs through her broad research interests has always been a love for science and learning. In the words of Terry Pratchett: “It’s still magic even if you know how it’s done.” (A Hat Full of Sky)
