The Roots of Compassion and Kindness (ROCK) Center
The ROCK Center promotes compassion, kindness, and empathy through education, action, and research, shaping a more peaceful and sustainable future. Founded in 2020, the ROCK Center equips FGCU students with multidisciplinary insights on compassion, which they put into practice by working in local classrooms, visiting senior centers, engaging with community members, and supporting campus events.
Through this work, we advocate for compassionate action and empower students to carry these values into their future careers, while demonstrating that compassion can be learned, practiced, and shared at any age.
The ROCK Center partners with schools, community groups, businesses, healthcare providers, law enforcement, among several other organizations to develop and provide:
