On and Off Campus Resources

Information regarding the Safe Zone Ally program, as well as general information about the culture and resources for the LGBTIQ population can be obtained from any Safe Zone ally who has successfully completed the training program. You can identify allies by the FGCU Safe Zone logo displayed in their office, and know that they have information and resources about the program and the LGBTIQ community.

Almost all current CAPS staff has successfully completed the safe zone training program and are allies. Please contact CAPS for information about or to schedule a training, or to request Safe Zone pamphlets for your office or event. As with all students, LGBTIQ students are treated with dignity and respect as they seek counseling, information, and other services.

Dean of Students * 590-7790

Many of the staff of the Office of the Dean of Students have successfully completed the safe zone training program and are allies. They can be identified by the display of the FGCU safe zone logo and have information and resources about the program and the LGBTIQ community. If you have felt harassed or bullied on campus, this is a good place to start.

Office of Multicultural Student Services * 590-7990

Many of the staff of the Office of Multicultural Student Services have successfully completed the safe zone training program and are allies. They can be identified by the display of the FGCU safe zone logo and have information and resources about the program and the LGBTIQ community.

The primary purpose of this organization is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to members of the gay, lesbina, bisexual, and ally community.


Fort Myers -- it's not New York City, but there are resources for the LGBT community here! There are many local area businesses, services, clubs, and places of worship which are gay-owned, operated, and/or open and affirming places for LGBTIQ individuals.
