The FGCU College of Arts & Sciences sparks students' wonder about the world with engaging courses and programs across the sciences, humanities, arts, and social sciences. The College of Education creates Florida’s best-prepared educators by placing a strong emphasis on learning by doing and teaching by example to give students the solid foundation needed to begin their new career immediately upon graduation. Careers in education can lead to becoming a Florida certified teacher, educational administrator, innovative learning designer community leader, advocates for children and youth, and many other inspiring careers. Graduates from the College of Education have a 100% employment rate for teacher preparation program. Students benefit from small class sizes and personal attention with professors who are passionate about teaching and committed to helping students graduate. Classroom sessions are balanced and reinforced by research, leadership, service, and field experience.

The College of Education offers seven undergraduate majors and an education minor. Majors include teacher preparation programs in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Secondary Social Sciences, Secondary Biology, and Secondary Mathematics. Child and Youth Studies offers an opportunity for students interested in education careers outside the traditional classroom.

Whether students are looking to start their own businesses, or recognize opportunities in existing businesses, the Daveler & Kauanui School of Entrepreneurship provides the resources and education to make students successful. This interdisciplinary major gives students control over their education by encouraging them to take courses within their fields of interest as electives. The DKE is building an entrepreneurial eco-system across FGCU, and students of all majors can get involved with entrepreneurship while pursuing their degrees through the free Runway Program Incubator, the Entrepreneurial Living-Learning Community for freshmen, and the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization, a student run club. In Fall 2021, the DKE will be housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art, building in the heart of FGCU’s campus. This unique, 27,000 square foot building, will include an incubator, maker-space, media room, and plenty of space for students to collaborate and innovate.
