Dr. Houdyshell earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University. He is an associate professor in higher education and Program Leader for the M.A. Educational Leadership program (higher education cocentration) in the College of Education, Florida Gulf Coast University. Before teaching full-time, he had an almost 20-year career working in higher education in a variety of departments within student affairs. His research interests include: academic advising, college students and mental health, helping skills, curriculum design, and collaborative research design. Member of NACADA.
