Homecoming Spirit Competition
To get the campus soaring with Homecoming spirit, offices and departments are encouraged to participate in this year’s Homecoming Spirit Competition by decorating their spaces to promote all things blue, green and homecoming. The office decorating competition begins today and photos must be submitted by Friday, January 24 at 5 p.m. Click here for rules and to apply.
Drone Show
All employees and their families are invited to attend FGCU’s very first drone show Friday, January 31, on the Library Lawn. The free event starts at 7 p.m. and the drone show is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m.
It is a unique opportunity to witness hundreds of drones lighting up the night sky, showcasing aerial formations and stunning visuals. Please bring your own chair or blanket. Food will be available for purchase at food trucks.
- Roadway and sidewalk closures:
- Sidewalk from South Village (SoVi) to Recreation Field 1 will be closed starting at 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- The Recreation Field 1 entrance of the SoVi boardwalk will be closed starting at 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- A portion of Parking Lot 8 and the sidewalk in front of Academic Building 9 will be closed starting at 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
- The roadway from the intersection at FGCU Boulevard South and FGCU South Bridge Loop Road, going east to the traffic lights near the Cohen Student Union, we be closed from 8 p.m. until 8:45 p.m.
