Test of Essential Academic Skills

The Test of Essential Academic Skills, also known as TEAS, is a standardized, multiple choice exam for student applying for a nursing program in the USA. Its purpose is to determine the ability of potential students to adjust to a nursing program.

 

Proctoring Fee

The total cost of the TEAS is $130, which is divided into two different fees.

  • $60 for a proctored TEAS appointment and is non-refundable.
  • $70 for the TEAS itself and paid directly to ATI and also non-refundable.

Use our online registration system, Registerblast, to pay and schedule your in-person TEAS appointment.

** PLEASE NOTE: All remote exams previously purchased must be taken on or before March 4, 2022.   If you have already purchased your remote assessment and appointment and are unable to test prior to the deadline, please email us.   We will do our best to accommodate and change you to an in-person appointment.

 

TEAS Instructions

Once you pay and register for your (in-person) TEAS appointment,

  • Arrive at the FGCU Testing Center at least 15 minutes prior to the appointment time you selected.
  • The ATI $70 fee can be paid using a debit or credit card.
  • Create your account at ATI Testing selecting FL Gulf Coast U TEAS to send your scores to FGCU's School of Nursing.

If you already paid for your (remote) TEAS appointment, your final day to take the exam is: Friday, March 4, 2022.

  • You should have received an email with instructions and the proper assessment information. 
  • The ATI $70 fee can be paid using a debit or credit card.
  • Create your account at ATI Testing selecting FL Gulf Coast U TEAS to send your scores to FGCU's School of Nursing.

If you did not receive the instructions, email us from your Eagle Email address, and provide your order number, full name and UIN.

 

Remote Information

The remote TEAS will be proctored every Friday, ending on March 4th, 2022.  Authorizations to begin will only be granted strictly between 10 AM and 11 AM (EST).

Attention

Authorizations not granted prior to 11 AM, will not be able to test.

 

 

Exam Day

Physical calculators and other electronic devices are not permitted during testing.  An online calculator will be available for specific questions only.  You will be issued one piece of scratch paper and two pencils to use during your exam. 


Students must provide a valid government-issued photo identification with signature before beginning any assessment.  Additional information can be found in the Rules and Procedures.

 

Disability-Related Accommodations

Email us to indicate that you are requesting ADA accommodations for TEAS and provide your full name with contact information.

FGCU students must be registered with the Office of Adaptive Services to request disability-related accommodations.

The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields.

You will have 209 minutes to answer 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers, and evaluates your class readiness in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage.
