Admission Criteria for Application Review

Completion of a minimum of 4 semesters of high school (student should not have completed sufficient units to qualify for high school graduation, and must apply all credits earned to meeting high school graduation requirements and University criteria for degree completion).
Be a full time resident of Collier, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry, or Lee county.
Demonstrated exceptional ability and academic performance.
Completed ACE online application and associated forms by the published deadline.
Approval of parent or guardian.
Attendance at one (1) Public Information Meeting during the application cycle for which you are applying.
Completion of one 20-minute interview with members of the ACE Admission Committee.
Approval of the Director, Early College Programs and the ACE Admission Review Committee.
Attain minimum high school GPAs and standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, or CLT - choose one exam) by the published application deadline:

*Per state statute, homeschool students are exempt from the GPA requirement. Contact the ACE Director if you have additional questions.

How to Apply

The ACE Application for 2026-2027 will open on January 7, 2026

Prior to completing the application steps below, a student should first:

Meet with their high school counselor to discuss eligibility
Attend an ACE Public Information Meeting (see dates below on calendar)
Note: the last opportunities to take the ACT, SAT, or CLT for the 2026-2027 application cycle are March 14 (SAT), April 11 (ACT), March 21 (CLT). We recommend that you test early in case a re-take is needed prior to the application deadline.

Step One: Create an FGCU Account

- Beginning January 7, 2026, Click on the green "Apply Here" Button below.
- Click "First Time Users" to create your Future Eagle account.
- Fill in the requested information and hit "Continue". You will receive an e-mail at the e-mail you entered that contains a PIN number.
- Check your e-mail for the PIN to create your password. Be sure to make note of your password! You will need it to log back into the system later.
Step Two: Start an Application & Complete Essay Response

- Click "Start Application."
- When the pop-up box appears, select "Dual Enrollment" from the drop down menu and then "Create Application." Fill in the requested information and click "Continue"
- On the "Enrollment Plans" screen, be sure to select "Accelerated Collegiate Experience" from the "Applicant Type" box
- Select "Fall 2026" from the "When do you plan to enroll?" dropdown. Select "Non-Degree - Undergraduate" from the "Academic Major" dropdown. Choose your high school type.
- The essay response is next. Essay responses will be heavily weighted in the admission decision. Be sure to be thoughtful, creative, and write a minimum of 250 words for the essay question. We recommend that you prepare your response in advance and then copy/paste the response into the application when you get to this step.

- Applications will not be processed if both conduct questions are not checked. Dishonest responses may jeopardize your ACE Admission status and/or future admission to FGCU. Checking "yes" does not necessarily disqualify an applicant from the ACE program.
- Save your application if you are not ready to complete it. You may stop and save as needed. Please only hit submit once you have completed the entire application, including the essay response.
- Submit your application when completed. Only one (1) application may be submitted.
Step Three: Submit Supplemental Forms

Download, print, complete, and upload to your application account the following completed and signed forms (forms will be available beginning January 7, 2026):
- Program Authorization Form (high school counselor recommendation form)
- Third Party Authorization
- Memo of Understanding
- Personal Resume (create and upload on your own)
Be sure to scan/save each completed document as a PDF file prior to upload. Free smart phone applications can be utilized if you do not have access to a scanner. Please note that only one submission per document is permitted within your application account. Please make sure any multi-page documents are combined into one PDF prior to upload.

Documents will ONLY be accepted through upload to your application account. Once you have the forms complete, log back in to your online application account and navigate to the upload box for each form.
Step Four: Submit Official Test Scores and Transcripts

- Send official SAT, ACT, and/or CLT scores to the FGCU Undergraduate Admissions Office. FGCU school codes for sending electronic score reports: SAT (5221) or ACT (0733).
- Send official high school transcripts and other college transcripts to the FGCU Undergraduate Admissions Office. Transcripts can be sent electronically by your high school or you can choose to have a printed copy mailed in a sealed envelope to FGCU:

- You may check your application status through the admissions account. Please note that it may take 10-14 business days for your high school transcript and SAT/ACT/CLT scores to match to your application once you have officially submitted your application.
Step Five: Attend an Interview with the Admission Committee

All applicants will be required to complete a 20 minute interview with representatives from the ACE Admission Committee. Interviews will be available both in-person and virtually. Interview sign-up information will be sent to applicants once the application, supplemental materials, transcripts, and test scores have been submitted and received. We anticipate hosting interviews beginning in late March and continuing through April. Initial sign-up information and additional interview details will be sent in mid-March.

Public Information Meetings

Public Information Meetings are open to prospective students and parents. When possible, current and former ACE students are present to provide their perspective. Attendance at one Public Information Meeting is required as part of the application process. RSVP is requested to help us anticipate attendance.
