Discover opportunities for employee engagement and development with SAC

April 06, 2026

The Staff Advisory Council (SAC) is committed to advocating for and supporting FGCU staff. It encourages employees to deepen their involvement and connect in meaningful ways through SAC recognition programs, monthly meetings and opportunities to participate in shared governance.

Here’s how to get involved:

• Attend SAC’s monthly meetings: Each meeting is built around a theme designed to help employees engage with one another, build meaningful connections and access resources that support collective growth and success.

• Nominate a colleague: Celebrate staff members who go above and beyond by submitting a Finest of the Flock nomination. You can also submit a Staff Shoutout, a new, quick way to recognize a staff member who made your day and exemplified FGCU’s core values in a special way.

• Attend the SAC Annual Assembly: From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 21 in Margaret Antonier Hall (Academic Building 9), Room 138, stop by to hear important SAC updates, connect with fellow staff and participate in the election kick-off.

• Become a SAC representative: Email sac@fgcu.edu to self-nominate or nominate a fellow administrative & professional (A&P) or support personnel (SP) employee.

Recently, SAC wrapped up Soar into Spring, one of several initiatives it offers that supports employee learning and engagement. The series, held annually during students’ spring break, offers a range of personal and professional development opportunities.

This year’s events took place March 2-6 and featured 32 sessions including facility tours, social media workshops, self-defense classes, fire extinguisher training, wet walks, workshops on creating expense reports, among others. The event closed with a food drive, collecting 366 pounds of food and $93 in donations.
