The Department of Communication & Philosophy was recently honored with the Award of Distinction in the special event category for FGCU’s Soaring Connections event. The recognition was presented by the Florida Public Relations Association at the Golden Image Awards ceremony August 5.

Soaring Connections is a networking event designed to connect students with industry professions in public relations, communications, marketing and journalism.

The award was presented in collaboration with the FPRA Student Chapter at FGCU and the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, both of which partnered in the event. The Golden Images Awards recognizes the best examples of innovation, planning, implementation and results in the field of public relations.
