If you were recognized in the community, presented your work at a conference or your department/area received distinctions or recognitions, we want to know! Visit fgcu.edu/accolade-submissions to view submission guidelines. You can also submit the form to recognize a fellow colleague. Questions can be directed to newsletter@fgcu.edu.

Jamie Wilson, service-learning coordinator for Faculty Development and Partnerships, received the 2026 Leadership Estero Alum of the Year Award from the Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce. Through Jamie’s vision and leadership, the Leadership Estero Class of 2025 became the first class in the program’s history to spearhead a community project providing graduation caps and gowns for students experiencing homelessness or foster care.

The initiative raised nearly $10,000, helping 68 graduating seniors this year while also establishing funding to support future graduates and milestone experiences such as prom, yearbooks and Grad Bash.
