Weekly Events Email Moving to MyFGCU App/Desktop Portal August 26

For the past two years, you have received a weekly email each Tuesday highlighting upcoming events across campus. The email has served as a valuable resource, helping keep the FGCU community informed, connected and engaged in campus life.

As we continue to enhance how the campus community accesses information, events of the week are transitioning from weekly email to MyFGCU, the university’s official app and desktop portal.

MyFGCU’s enhanced Events module replaces the need for a weekly email by highlighting featured campus events and providing easy browsing, filtering and searching by date, keyword or calendar view. Users can also save events directly to their personal calendars.

Events displayed in MyFGCU are automatically pulled from Eagle Link and the university’s Featured Events Calendar. To explore upcoming events:

Open MyFGCU and click on the “MyFGCU Events” module
Select “This Week” or “This Month” to view upcoming events. To see featured campus events, select the “Featured” category under “Search & Filter.”

MyFGCU Event Submissions:

To ensure your event is tagged as “featured” content, it must follow event guidelines and be posted to one of the two webpages below.

If you would like to add your event to Eagle Link but do not have an active department or office page, review the Eagle Link Guide.docx for instructions.

Alerts about campus parking or roadway disruptions due to maintenance work, construction projects, events, etc. will be added to the Events module by University Communications & Media Relations.

Transition Timeline:

The Tuesday events listing email will continue to be sent to students and employees through August 25. After that date, event information will only be available through MyFGCU.
