Why Have The Nesting Place?

The Nesting Place at FGCU directly advances the FGCU Golisano Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Initiative (GIDDI) mission by providing an essential on-campus sensory environment that reduces overstimulation, improves focus, and welcomes a culture where neurodivergent students, faculty, and staff can authentically thrive. The Nesting Place also enhances one of FGCU GIDDI's goals to create a campus that invites students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to thrive.
