Nurse Educator Certificate

The Post Masters Nurse Educator Certificate is for nurses who hold a Masters degree or Doctoral degree in Nursing and will prepare them for an academic nursing role. 

General Requirements

  1. Submission of a FGCU Post-Baccalaureate Non-Degree Application to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
  2. Master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Submission of official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended.
  4. Current and unrestricted registration as a registered nurse with eligibility for Florida RN Licensure.
  5. Completion of the following courses (or equivalent) taken within the past five years:
    • Graduate level Pathophysiology
    • Graduate level Health Assessment
    • Graduate level Pharmacology
    • Graduate level Nursing Research/Evidence-based Practice

Additional Graduation Requirements

  • Students must complete 17 credit hours specified by the certificate program.
  • A grade of B or higher must be earned in all required courses.
  • Satisfactory completion of Professional Portfolio.
