Global Learning Grant Program

The Global Learning Grant Program is intended for students who demonstrate engagement & active participation in campus internationalization programs and events. Some examples include participation in, but not limited to, the following: Study Abroad Programs, The GEO Ambassador Program, International Education Week, International Reception, Millennium Fellowship, and Student Organizations with an international perspective, etc.). Students who demonstrate greater involvement in FGCU campus internationalization endeavors or cross-cultural programs/events will receive preference in the awarding and dispersal of this grant.

The award provides up to $500.00 per semester to pay for tuition and fees for undergrad students in programs affiliated with the Global Engagement Office such as through Study Abroad and FGCU International Students. All students must meet the eligibility requirements. The award is to be used in the semester indicated in the application and may not be deferred for future use.

Two application periods: First two weeks of October/for Fall applicants and  April 8th - 22nd for Spring applicants.

Qualifications to Apply

  • If chosen, you will need to provide evidence that you have enrolled in an FGCU sponsored Faculty Led Study Abroad Program or that you have been enrolled in an FGCU sponsored exchange program, or have participated in campus internationalization programs and events. Students will be required to provide a written statement of their active international involvement as part of the application. 
  • International Student Applicants must be on F-1, F-2 or H1-B visas. Short-term, exchange students on J-1 visas are not eligible.
  • Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in an undergraduate degree program at Florida Gulf Coast University. 
  • Eligible only after completing two semesters at FGCU with satisfactory academic progress (SAP) prior to the use of the award.
  • Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in an undergraduate degree program at Florida Gulf Coast University.
  • Students in their last semester ARE NOT eligible for the Global Learning Grant.

Global Learning Grant Applications are only open the first two weeks of October and April
