By Feel: Artworks from Drawing Workshop
Location: Gallery 101
Dates: November 12, 2026–January 21, 2027
Drawing Workshop is a course that challenges students to develop their own artistic voice—to move away from making works as mere solutions to assignments set by their professors and begin making work driven by their own priorities and personalities as artists. Alongside weekly reflective writing, students build a body of work stepping forward artwork by artwork, considering each previous piece as they construct the next, with advice and input from the rest of the class. In so doing, the terms by which each artist’s work should be seen and understood develops alongside the series itself. The class accepts unresolved thoughts, messy experiments, even outright failures as part of the creative process. This course provides a structure within which students may pursue and better understand their own individual creative approaches.
This exhibition showcases student works developed within Drawing Workshop over the course of the Fall 2026 semester.
