Dr. Bhisnauth Churaman, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and clinical coordinator for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Family Nurse Practitioner program. He earned his Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) in 2011 and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2014 from Florida Southwestern College. Dr. Churaman completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at FGCU in 2019, with a focus on improving oral care in underserved pediatric Latino populations. He is currently pursuing post-graduate certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Florida State University.

Dr. Churaman is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with clinical practice in urgent care in Bonita Springs, Florida. His areas of expertise include health disparities, simulation-based education, diagnostic reasoning, and competency-based curriculum design. He serves on the HRSA-funded Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) grant and is a contributing author to peer-reviewed journals and nursing education textbooks.

Dr. Churaman was appointed to the Inclusive Excellence Committee of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) and selected for the 2024–2025 NONPF Leadership Mentoring Program. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). His academic and clinical work reflects a strong commitment to advancing primary care access and preparing practice-ready nurse practitioners to serve diverse communities.
