Ph.D. in Accounting with Emphasis in Information Systems, University of South Florida

Dr. Benford’s research interests include business process controls and corporate governance as well as the impact of information technology on judgment and decision-making in accounting. She has published in the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems and the European Journal of Information systems, top journals in accounting and information systems.

Prior to entering academia, she was Director of Finance for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She also held senior management positions in both the airline and insurance industries and began her career as a staff accountant at Coopers & Lybrand (PwC) in Miami, Fl.
