Vaughan, Tom (M.S.Ed.)
Tom Vaughan comes to the Office of Adaptive Services with thirty years of experience as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager. He started his career as a seventh- and eighth-grade MiMH, LD, and Behavioral teacher at West Side Jr. High School in East Chicago, Indiana. During this time, Tom completed a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Special Education at Purdue University Calumet. He served as head teacher for four years, chairperson for Performance Based Accreditation and School Improvement for five years, and completed 30 more credit hours of college work in administration and special education. In 2017 Tom retired from the Special Education Department at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois. His teaching career at Oak Forest High School required skills in the subject areas of Algebra, Chemistry, and Integrated Physics. Currently, Tom enjoys the Case Manager position with the Adaptive Services Department at Florida Gulf Coast University, spending time with family, and playing golf.
