Finding a Major That Fits (SLS 1301)

This is the class for the student who is still trying to decide what they want to do for a major .  It is great for freshman and sophomores, but helpful to anyone struggling with these large decisions.  Through lectures, class activities, guest speakers, and assessments, the class takes a close look at personality, skills, interests, and values, informational interviewing, researching, and decision making.

This is the class for the student who knows (or almost knows) what they want and where they are going with their career.  It is great for juniors and seniors, but helpful at any point in a student’s four years.  There is a lot of material covered: branding, elevator pitch, professional dress, career fair preparation, resume, cover letter, interviewing, networking, salary negotiation, and graduate school preparation.
