Hello, I'm Richard, a senior in Software Engineering. Currently, I am tutoring for lower level Software Engineering and Computer Science courses in the Learning Hub.

Hi, my name is Gus Brugger. I am a senior in the Bioengineering program at FGCU and an active member of the BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society). This summer, I spent the majority of my time working with some of the bioengineering faculty on research projects involving optical fiber sensing and automated farming. Outside of school,  you can find me somewhere in the back country of the Everglades sight fishing Snook, Red Fish, and Tarpon from the bow of my Gheenoe. Come into the Learning Hub if you need help with Engineering Mechanics, and I'll be happy to help out.

I work as a Teaching Assistant and a Learning Hub Mentor, and I'm also a member of
a Brazilian organization.
I have been working with tutoring for about 2 years. Initially, I worked with math
courses and now I tutor for software engineering courses. In my free time, I like
to play video games and tennis. A fun fact about me is that in my freshman year I
was majoring in civil engineering, and then I switched to Software Engineering. In
the future, I want to work with game developments.

• On campus: President & Founder of SOAR (Students Of All Roots), participant in the FGCU Runway Program (entrepreneurship), IT Help Desk Specialist, active in research (biomechanics and biomedical devices), member of Salseros and SHEP.
• Off campus: Volunteered in the Dominican Republic Outreach Program (DROP) and served as Regional Representative & Student Liaison with AFS Intercultural Programs.

Internship Experience: Preparing for a summer 2026 internship; research background includes sodium-ion battery development and prosthetic exoskeleton design/testing.

Fun/Relevant Detail: I do rock climbing. Career goal: to work in biomedical devices and research, creating technology that directly improves patient care.

My name is Scott Martin and I major in civil engineering, I enjoy going to the beach and recently picked up diving as a new hobby.

My name is Thalia Mora, I’m a Civil Engineering major and this is my first tutoring experience here at the WCE learning hub. My ultimate career goal is to open my own engineering firm in the future. My hobbies include going to the beach, playing pickle ball, and building Legos.

I'm Peter Nguyen a software engineering major, learning to further develop my skills in fields related to data science and web development such as frontend development and machine learning to utilize into a career anywhere. I have an interest in trying out new types foods from different areas close to me.

I have worked as a tutor for nearly a year in Engineering Mechanics. I prefer to work hands on to help teach the students each topic.

My name is Ryan Portell. I'm currently in my senior year pursuing my degree in Software Engineering. I'm involved in the Learning Hub found in Holmes Hall on campus. In my free time, I tinker around on my homelab, work on some coding projects, enjoy being outdoors like camping or going on nature walks, and of course, I play some games here and there.

Hi, my name is Nelson Rengifo, and I’m majoring in Software Engineering. I’m currently
interning with the school’s video and audio production team, where I help with ESPN
broadcasts of our sporting events. Outside of school, I enjoy tennis, boxing, going to the
gym, gaming, and spending time at the beach. I’m excited to be a mentor and share what
I’ve learned while also getting to know new people.

My name is Andy Travieso and I am currently a senior in civil engineering. I am volunteering as a fluid mechanics tutor in the Learning Hub and have past experience as a Civil Engineering Intern at Peninsula Engineering working in land development. My main career goal is to continue progressing as a civil engineering student and obtain my FE license by next year.
