Registered Student Organizations
Associated Builders and Contractors Florida Gulf Coast University Student Chapter (ABC) provides its members with opportunities for learning and professional development through networking events, service-learning, construction site visits, industry presentations, and participation in professional competitions. Any students with an interest in the field of construction are welcome to join.
American Society of Civil Engineers Florida Gulf Coast University Student Chapter (ASCE) offers opportunities to network with professionals, access workshops, and bridge the gap between education and application. Partnered with the Southwest Florida Branch, they offer opportunities to attend presentations by professional engineers and community leaders.
Engineering Society (BMES) Student Chapter at FGCU is dedicated to serving its members and its community through educational and professional development. BMES is a support group for students in need of homework help, study material, and advice. It promotes the development of student education by giving members the ability to see real life application of concepts learned in the classroom.
The goal of the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) Student Chapter at FGCU is to enhance student opportunity for research and design, production of environmental-based technology, as well as advancement toward professional, career-based goals. They seek to unite those interested in the water profession and provide them with ample opportunities for networking, professional development, and learning.
The objective of The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) FGCU Student Chapter is to develop student interest in engineering; to endeavor in the advancement of the ethnic minority engineers in professional industry; and to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers, who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) FGCU Student Chapter brings opportunities to students through networking with companies, attending conventions, and more.
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Student Chapter at FGCU was established to empower women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders. SWE members demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion. SWE is dedicated to providing a safe community of women who are pursuing an engineering degree. All engineers are welcome.
The Florida Gulf Coast University Women in Construction (WIC) Student Chapter, a recently established Registered Student Organization (RSO), is dedicated to cultivating student interest in the construction industry while prioritizing the empowerment of women and underrepresented minorities. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to participate in their organization.
