First Time In College Student Orientation

Your Eagle Email account is where you will receive all official communication from the University. You can activate your student email account at www.fgcu.edu/myaccount. Once activated, you should regularly monitor your email account. 

FGCU uses DuoMobile as its 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) system to help secure your personal information and online identity. You will be prompted to register your device when you log in to an FGCU system requiring 2FA.  

To accept your offer of admission, you must log into your Future Eagle Account and answer your Decision Reply question. On the Home tab of your Future Eagle Account, look at the right-hand column under "Forms." 

After accepting your offer of admission, you will be able to submit your $200 non-refundable deposit. To submit your Admission Deposit, go to your Home tab on your Future Eagle Account.  From there, look for "Payment Due" and select Submit Payment for $200.00 USD.  

Residency classification is a state-mandated requirement that must be submitted upon admission. Please log into your Future Eagle Account to complete the residency form. Click the "Application" tab to view your list of supplemental items including residency. You can then click on "Start" for the Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes Form. 

To apply for all federal, some state, and most FGCU aid programs, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online every year. FGCU has established a March 1st priority-filing deadline. Applications filed by March 1st, will receive priority consideration for limited funding sources. FGCU's school code for the FAFSA is 032553. 

Get your FSA ID and Password: also referred to as your Federal Student Aid log-in credentials, must be used to log in to certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID confirms your identity when you access your financial aid information and electronically sign Federal Student Aid documents. If you do not already have an FSA ID, you may create one at studentaid.gov. Each person who requests an FSA ID must have their own email address. Students and parents (contributors) cannot use the same email address to create separate FSA ID's. 

Students and their FAFSA contributors will need to create an FSA ID.  Starting with the 2024–25 FAFSA form, a contributor refers to anyone (you, your spouse, your biological or adoptive parent, or your parent's spouse) who's required to provide information on the FAFSA form.  

FAFSA Submission Summary: The federal processor will analyze the information you provided on the FAFSA, using a federally mandated formula. They will calculate your Student Aid Index (SAI) which is used to determine your eligibility for financial aid. If you included FGCU among the colleges that you reported on the FAFSA, we will receive an electronic record of your application information directly from the federal processor. 

You will  NOT be able to register for classes if your immunization records have not been received and processed by Student Health Services. Please log in to the  Student Health Portal to verify your current immunization status. You may be compliant due to Florida Shot records being uploaded automatically into the Student Health Portal.  

To submit your records for processing, please visit fgcu.studenthealthportal.com fill out the electronic “Immunization History Form” (located in MY FORMS at the top of the portal) then scroll down to upload.  

Orientation does not receive or process Immunization records. For any questions regarding Immunization Forms, please email immune@fgcu.edu or visit the Student Health Services website for more information.  

FGCU students are not required to live on campus, so the housing application process is voluntary and separate from the admission process. You must be admitted to FGCU prior to applying for housing. Apply early — space is limited and demand for housing is high. 

How To Apply: 

1. Click on Log into the Housing Web Portal. 
2. Click “Apply for Housing.” 
3. Click on desired application. 
4. Follow the steps to submit the agreement. A $50 non-refundable housing application fee is required during this process. Your application will not be processed until you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions, paid the fee, and hit the submit button. You should plan on completing this process in one sitting.

The Steps to Register:

1. On your Future Eagle Account Portal, please accept your offer into FGCU and submit your $200 non-refundable Enrollment Deposit.

2. Once you've accepted your offer and submitted your Enrollment Deposit, you will see a clickable button on your Future Eagle Account Portal home screen that says "Register Now for Orientation!" Please click that button.

3. Next, select your preferred Eagle View Orientation program date from the list of open dates.

4. Complete the registration form and add any family member(s) or guest(s) who will attend the Parent and Family Eagle View Orientation program. 

For your comfort and convenience, we encouraged you to pack items on the list below to bring to orientation:  

• Your UIN, Eagle Email, and password should be memorized or easily accessible as they will need to log in to your FGCU accounts. Additionally, please ensure Duo Mobile, the service used by FGCU for two-factor authentication is downloaded to their and working properly. 
  

• When considering what clothing to wear and pack, all are encouraged to dress comfortably. There will be walking sections to go to and from various presentations, so walking shoes are recommended. Florida is known for spontaneous showers, so please come prepared with a rain coat and/or umbrella.  

Check-in for the orientation program will begin at 8:15 AM. Designated orientation parking is located in Parking Garage 1. Signage from entrances to campus will provide direction, and a map of campus can be viewed on the website. A parking pass is not required for the orientation program as long as you are parked in Parking Garage 1.

From Parking Garage 1, signage will direct you to Academic Building 9 where one of our staff members will assist you with your check-in process. 

We have gone digital! To view the program agenda for your upcoming orientation program, please follow these steps one week prior to your orientation program:

1. Download our mobile app “FGCU Events Guidebook” in the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
2. Once downloaded, click “Find Guides,” then search for “Eagle View Orientation ’26.”
3. Click “Open” or “Download”.  The guide includes helpful resources you can explore before, during, and after orientation.
4. To locate the program agenda, under the main menu on the top left, select “Program Agenda” and navigate to the correct program date.  
5. You are able to filter based off the student's orientation program and the parent and family orientation program

Please note that your program agenda will be come available on the app one week prior to your orientation program. 

Complete the Pre-Orientation modules at evo.fgcu.edu by logging in with your Eagle Email login credentials. This set of virtual modules will provide you with foundation information about the opportunities and responsibilities that await you at FGCU and will prepare you for meeting with your academic advisor and registering for courses.

The steps to upload and obtain your Eagle ID are as follows:  

1. Log into the FGCU eAccounts with your Eagle Email and Eagle Email Password 

NOTE: You can upload your new ID photo within the eAccounts app. Download from the Apple Store or Google Play Store searching for ‘Transact eAccounts.’  Set Florida Gulf Coast University as the school page and log in with FGCU Single Sign On 

2. Click on Profile and then select "Click to Submit a New Photo"  

NOTE: If using eAccounts app, click on the Settings icon to go to ‘Manage Account’ and then click on ‘Submit ID Photo’ 

3. Read and complete all photo submission requirements. A form of government-issued identification is also required, such as a driver's license or passport.  

4. Wait for an approval email to confirm your photo was accepted

By completing these steps, your Eagle ID Card will be available for pick-up during check-in at your orientation program.  

Academic advisors will reach out to students, via Eagle Email, who have completed their pre-orientation tasks (submitted immunization forms and completed the pre-orientation virtual modules) to schedule an advising appointment. During that appointment, you will meet with your academic advisor to select courses for the Summer B (if applicable) and Fall semester(s). 

Your advising appointment can take place in person or virtually on Microsoft Teams.
