Free Foundational Courses - Level I
(Requires .EDU Address)
Foundational activities are geared toward learners who are new to the subject matter and seeking to learn basic concepts and build knowledge. These credentials are typically issued to individuals with little or no prior knowledge or experience in the content area. Content represents real-world scenarios with top IBM client stories and solutions. These courses are designed to help close the talent gap for industry partners. Foundational courses are currently only offered to those with a .edu email address.

This course provides a basic understanding of the foundations of Data Science including: Data Science Team Roles, Data Analysis Tools, and real-world use cases for the application of the Data Science method.
This course covers the foundations of Artificial Intelligence for business, including the following topics: AI Evolution, AI Industry Adoption Trends, Natural Language Processing and Virtual Agents.
This course covers the basic foundations of cloud for the enterprise including: Consumer
applications, Enterprise adoption, Delivery models and Industry Cloud Adoption.
This is a foundational course, exposing the learner to threat intelligence concepts including: Attack trends by geography, threat intelligence tools and real-world use cases. Complete this course to get your badge.

These courses build upon foundational knowledge and are staff/faculty-led courses that prepare participants to refine and better hone their skills and advance their knowledge in the topic. Participants earn a digital Certificate of Completion from IBM for $312.

Following completion of Intermediate Level Certifications, participants can dive deeper into the following skills through FGCU faculty-led courses designed to achieve mastery in a specific technical area. Participants earn a digital Certificate of Completion from IBM for $312.
Practitioner Industry Certification- Level IV
(Free for Lee County Residents)
Through validated Cybersecurity instructor-led training, this credential earner has acquired the skills and understanding of Cybersecurity concepts and technologies. They have demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Cybersecurity technical topics and design thinking. The earner has gained the ability to apply the concepts and technology to design and develop a Cybersecurity solution prototype that is applicable to real-world Cybersecurity scenarios, suitable for educational purposes.
Through validated blockchain instructor-led training, this credential earner has demonstrated they have acquired the skills and understanding of Blockchain concepts and technologies. They have demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Blockchain technical topics and design thinking. The earner has gained the ability to apply the concepts and technology to design & develop a Blockchain solution prototype that is applicable to real world Blockchain scenarios, suitable for educational purposes.
Internet of Things
The IoT Cloud Developer career path prepares students to apply IoT and cloud computing concepts to build solutions based on devices connected to a cloud-based IoT platform. It explains the basic concepts of IoT, device connectivity protocols, data generated by sensors and other devices, cloud computing, device simulators, flow-based programming tools, REST APIs, and analytics. The concepts are then applied to practical use cases by using IBM Watson IoT Platform, Watson AI services, and tools on IBM Cloud.
Through validated Artificial Intelligence (AI) instructor-led training, this credential earner has acquired the skills and understanding of AI concepts and technologies. The earner has demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Artificial Intelligence technical topics and design thinking. They have gained the ability to apply the concepts and technology of Artificial Intelligence with applicable open source tools that are relevant to real world AI scenarios, suitable for educational purposes.
