Lifeguard

• A University Recreation & Wellness Lifeguard is responsible for the overall safety of all participants at the three aquatics facilities, SoVi Pool, Waterfront and Aquatics Center. A Lifeguard provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

Customer Service Representative

• Customer Service Representatives (CSR) serve as the “gateway” to the University Recreation & Wellness Center (URWC) across from the SoVi Community by greeting members and guests, fielding questions, assisting with guest passes, access, and equipment checkout, and generally overseeing the day-to-day operation of the facility. The CSR will also serve in an administrative capacity by processing memberships, processing payments and clearly communicating University Recreation & Wellness programs, offerings, policies and procedures.

Fitness Attendant

• Fitness Attendants are primarily responsible for providing a clean, safe, and helpful workout environment for the users of the University Recreation & Wellness Center, as well as provide assistance to those working out. 

Group Fitness Instructor 

• Provides fitness instruction to a group of people desiring a program catering to everyone that is participating. 

Personal Trainer 

• Provides one-on-one fitness instruction to people desiring a program tailored to their specific needs.

Marketing Developer

• This position is responsible for planning, creating, designing, and implementing all assigned marketing concepts for University Recreation & Wellness to promote the programs and facilities within the department. This includes but is not limited to flyers, posters, photographs, videos, creating and managing social media content, communicating with professional and student staff, attending meetings, and contributing to other marketing and outreach efforts as necessary.

Peer Health Educator

• The Peer Health Educator will be responsible for promoting health education through outreach initiatives such as interactive tabling, presenting workshops, and innovative programming.

 Waterfront Services Attendant

• The Waterfront Services Attendant oversees equipment checkouts, including kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, camping gear and bikes from the Waterfront front desk. They are also trip leaders and facilitate a safe and fun environment on student led trips.

Official/Scorekeeper

• Officiate Intramural Sports including typical core sport offerings of basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and other seasonal sports and events. Work in crews with other student officials to manage sport activities. Attend mandatory trainings and evaluation sessions. Officiating is a seasonal employment opportunity with scheduling based on availability and performance.
