Vaccine Opportunities on FGCU's Campus

Moderna Vaccine Clinic Every Thursday

Student Health Services is taking appointments for a Moderna vaccine clinic scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Thursday while supplies last.

Students interested in starting the two-dose series, or finishing it, should call 239-590-7966 to schedule an appointment. Clinic appointments are for students only. To be fully vaccinated, the Moderna vaccine is given in two doses at least 28 days apart. Student Health Services plans to offer Moderna vaccine clinics every Thursday afternoon going forward based on demand and as supplies last. FGCU strongly encourages students, faculty and staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine, but it is not required.

COVID-19 PCR saliva test kit distribution

COVID-19 test kits will be available throughout the Fall semester for FGCU staff, faculty and students.

Kits can be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday in the atrium of the Cohen Student Union and at all FGCU COVID-19 vaccine clinics. On Oct. 6-7, the Cohen testing table will be located outside in the breezeway.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, do not come to one of the pick-up locations. Please fill out your Veoci app health screener and a case investigator will reach out to give you further directions.

You must register your saliva-based kit online with Clinical Reference Laboratory (CRL) prior to use. Follow all the instructions that comes with the test kit, including placing the label on the specimen collection tube.

Each kit comes with a shipping pouch and a prepaid FedEx shipping label. Kits returned to a FGCU collection bin after 3 p.m. will be picked up the following day. Keep in mind that kits dropped off on campus will not be picked up for shipping during the weekends.

You can also mail your completed kit at any FedEx Office or FedEx Express location. Do not use a FedEx drop box or schedule a pickup, as it may delay your results. Find your closest FedEx location >

Kits need to be returned within 10 days for processing, and you will receive results typically within 24 to 48 hours. If you receive a positive test result, you will be contacted by a case investigator that will give them further instructions.

Drop off completed test kits between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the bins at the following locations:
  • North Lake Village: Lobby of Ackert Community Center
  • West Lake Village: WLV Community Center
  • South Village: Lobby of Everglades Hall
  • Cohen Student Union information booth
  • University Police Department lobby
