A master’s degree in English offers advanced training in the skills needed to succeed in positions in business, industry, entertainment, radio and television commentary, and museum work.
Because English can lead to many different career paths, it is important to identify an area of interest and plan to gain the right skills, experiences, and credentials to enter that field. FGCU English MA students may arrange to receive credit for individual academic projects through an Internship in a field related to the MA in English Degree. The student is expected to engage in work that is supervised by an Internship Supervisor. The supervisor must have demonstrable expertise in the internship area.
Cultivating my communication skills, creative thinking, and adept writing within the program at FGCU secured two immediate jobs at the university level and greatly benefits my interactions while building a career in the professional sphere.
