The AMC 8 For Middle School Students in Grades 8 and below
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
 
The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers.
FGCU Mathletes Circle will host our Annual AMC8 Middle
School Math Competition January 24th, 2026.
Participation is free.
Registration will be open later in the fall.
 
The AMC 10/12 For High School Students in Grades 12 and below
The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 10 and below. The content covers mathematical topics such as elementary algebra, basic geometry, area and volume formulas, elementary number theory, and elementary probability. Advanced topics like trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry are excluded.

The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 12 and below. It covers the full high school mathematics curriculum, including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry. Calculus is excluded.

Registration for AMC 10/12 is open now! 

 The AMC 10 and AMC 12 each offer two versions of the exam: the ‘A’ and the ‘B’ competition. 
Students may choose the date that best fits their schedule. However, students may not take both the AMC 10 and the AMC 12 on the same day. 
Students in grade 10 and below are eligible to take the AMC 10A and then the following week the AMC 12B.
 

The AMC 10A and 12A will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 5:30pm (FGCU campus)

The AMC 10B and 12B will be held on  Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 6:00pm.  (FGCU campus)

AMC 10/12 Registration

The competition will be held in person at the FGCU campus. Competition times may be adjusted if room changes are necessary. An official confirmation—including AMC Contest Platform registration details, room assignments, and parking information—will be emailed to registered participants by the end of September.
