The AMC 8 For Middle School Students in Grades 8 and below
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
 
The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers.
FGCU Mathletes Circle will host our Annual AMC8 Middle
School Math Competition in January 2027.
Participation is free.
 
 
The AMC 10/12 For High School Students in Grades 12 and below
The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 10 and below. The content covers mathematical topics such as elementary algebra, basic geometry, area and volume formulas, elementary number theory, and elementary probability. Advanced topics like trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry are excluded.

The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 12 and below. It covers the full high school mathematics curriculum, including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry. Calculus is excluded.

 

Registration for AMC 8/10/12 will be open closer to Fall 2026.

AMC 8 Registration

The competition will be held in person at the FGCU campus. Competition times may be adjusted if room changes are necessary. An official confirmation—including AMC Contest Platform registration details, room assignments, and parking information—will be emailed to registered participants by early in January.
