Vendors and 3rd Party Sites

When purchasing software, apps, or other digital material from vendors, it is important to ensure that the vendors are aware, and using, the updated WCAG 2.1AA regulations.  You should request a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) from any vendor you choose.  The VPAT provides accessibility information regarding their product and will show you what is, and is not, accessible.

Procurement Services at FGCU has included accessibility language within their policy and procedures.  This also ensures that all vendors are providing FGCU with accessible software, apps, and other forms of digital media.  Even though Procurement has these processes in place, it is essential that all departments do their own monitoring of accessibility to ensure that what they are purchasing meets all required guidelines.
