Chamber Choir, University Choir, Bel Canto and Cantabile
Choral ensembles are open to all students on campus regardless of major. Studies show
that college students in music ensembles outperform their peers in academic standings.
Come and join one of our groups today to perform for and outperform your peers!
FGCU's Chamber, University, Bel Canto & Cantabile Choirs are led and conducted by Dr. Trent Brown.

As FGCU went to online learning, Dr. Brown and the choirs quickly adapted. Hear the new composition by Shawn Allison, conducted by Dr. Trent Brown with piano by Abigail Allison written to keep the choir together during this time of turmoil and uncertainty:
The Chamber Choir is a mixed, auditioned ensemble open to all students regardless of major at FGCU.
Recognized for their remarkable versatility, the ensemble performs choral music from
the Renaissance to newly commissioned works, including premieres by Z. Randall Stroope
and Jason Bahr. The ensemble tours Florida annually and tours internationally every
three years.
The Chamber Choir was featured in an international choral festival held in Lithuania called the Kaunas Kantat, during their 2017 tour of the Baltic States, and in 2014 the choir sang as the featured ensemble at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna as part of the Kunst & Kultur series. The ensemble has performed for the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) annual conference, the Florida State Music Teachers Association (FSMTA) conference, and the Florida Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conference. The choir also collaborates regularly with community ensembles including Elijah with Opera Naples (2013), Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (2015), Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with Gulfshore Opera (2016), and in 2017 with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra in an all Baroque program.
Students interested in singing must schedule an audition with Dr. Brown.
