The FGCU Symposium on AI in Education will bring together educators, researchers, students, academic leaders, and community partners to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. The symposium will foster informed dialogue around innovative instructional practices, assessment and academic integrity, AI literacy, student success, accessibility, and the responsible use of AI across educational environments. Through the exchange of research, practical experiences, and emerging ideas, the event will help participants consider how human-centered AI can strengthen education while preserving critical thinking, creativity, ethical judgment, and meaningful human engagement.
AI Day

FGCU AI Day will bring together business leaders, educators, students, and technologists from across Southwest Florida to explore how artificial intelligence is being applied in practice today. Broader than the inaugural March 2026 edition, the day will feature 50 exhibitor booths, a rotating pitch theater, talent speed-dating tables, and a sponsored HAIckathon. Through live demonstrations, structured breakouts, and direct matchmaking between providers and visitors, the event will surface current practice, separate real capability from hype, and produce concrete next steps for the region. Participants will leave with a shared, grounded picture of where AI adoption stands and where it can responsibly go next.

FGCU AI Summer Academy - 2026 Cohort

Month of May, 2026 (PAST)
The 2026 FGCU AI Summer Academy, brought together faculty, students, staff, and community learners to build practical fluency in artificial intelligence across teaching, research, and professional practice. Delivered through 31 sessions spanning workshops, trainings, and webinars, the Academy fostered hands-on engagement with AI tools, responsible-use practices, and emerging applications across disciplines. Through expert-led instruction, peer collaboration, and applied learning pathways, the program helped participants build the skills and confidence to use AI thoughtfully, ethically, and effectively in their work and studies.
