Concrete Expo | Fall Semester

Concrete Exposure Day brings together FGCU, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the Florida Concrete & Products Association to highlight the latest practices in the concrete industry. Students can explore real-world applications of their degree, see demonstrations, and hear from industry experts. The event also offers valuable networking opportunities. 

Eagle X | Fall & Spring Semesters

Eagle X is a university-wide showcase where students share their experiences in internships, leadership, service-learning, and research. Presentations are judged by industry partners, and awards are given across several categories. It's an opportunity to celebrate student achievements, gain inspiration from peers, and see the many ways Eagles are making an impact. 

Engineers Week (E-Week) | Spring Semester

Engineers Week is part of a national, annual celebration of engineering. Throughout the week, students can attend a series of events put on by student organizations and the college. E-Week allows students to explore real-world applications of engineering, connect with guest speakers and industry professionals, and learn about different fields and career opportunities. E-Week events can include networking sessions, student organization activities, and fun traditions like the annual Students vs. Faculty Tug-of-War.

Hard Hat Ceremony | Fall & Spring Semesters

The Hard Hat Ceremony is a tradition celebrating construction management seniors as they transition from students to professionals. Graduates receive a personalized blue hard hat and Stock Development CM polo, presented by industry partners who have supported their journey. The event also includes awards, a catered reception, and recognition of each senior's achievements. 

Holmes is Your Home | Fall Semester

Holmes is Your Home is the college's annual kick-off event for the school year. Enjoy games, snacks, and giveaways while getting connected to student organizations and learning what WCE has to offer. It's a great way to get helpful resources, meet classmates and faculty, and get excited for the semester ahead.

Order of the Engineer | Spring Semester

The Order of the Engineer is a national organization that welcomes students into the engineering profession. During the induction ceremony, participants take an ethical oath, learn about the standards and responsibilities of being an engineer, and receive a ring as a symbol of their commitment to the field. It's a meaningful way to celebrate your path into the profession and connect with its values.

Stock Development Day | Fall Semester

Stock Development Day kicks off the semester for construction management students with a two-part event. First, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) student chapter hosts a welcome back event. Later, executives from Stock Development share insights into the construction and development market in Southwest Florida, followed by an open Q&A where students can ask questions and connect directly with industry leaders. 

WCE Career Expo | Fall & Spring Semesters

The WCE Career Expo is the college's biggest event for internships and job opportunities in engineering, computing, and construction. Students can network with employers, explore different fields and career paths, and practice valuable professional skills. Students are encouraged to come prepared with copies of their resume and to wear professional attire.

WCE Day is a college-wide celebration showcasing the achievements of our students, faculty, and staff. Seniors present the projects they've developed with industry partners, and the day concludes with an award ceremony recognizing Students of the Year, Hall of Fame inductees, and other awards.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)

Associated Builders and Contractors Florida Gulf Coast University Student Chapter (ABC) provides its members with opportunities for learning and professional development through networking events, service-learning, construction site visits, industry presentations, and participation in professional competitions. Any students with an interest in the field of construction are welcome to join.

The BMES Student Chapter at FGCU is dedicated to serving its members and its community through educational and professional development. BMES is a support group for students in need of homework help, study material, and advice. It promotes the development of student education by giving members the ability to see real life application of concepts learned in the classroom.

CSSEC is open to everyone, whether you're a coding newbie or a tech enthusiast. Their meetings cover topics and events such as career development sessions, coding workshops, and social events. Each year they host EagleHacks, a hackathon sponsored by local companies. Whether you’re here to grow your technical skills, build your professional network, or just have fun with like-minded people, CSSEC has something for you!

The FES Student Chapter at FGCU provides social, professional, and educational networking opportunities. This organization will assist in introducing the students involved to professionals within the state of Florida. To achieve this mission, student members of the Florida Engineering Society at FGCU will host and participate in general student body meetings and events, as well as community outreach opportunities such as MATHCOUNTS, Adopt-A-Road, and more.
