Tuition Waiver Support Guidelines

• Priority Consideration is given to applications submitted during these periods:

  Fall:  April 1 to June 15 (5:00 PM)
  Spring: September 1 to November 15 (5:00 PM)
  Summer: January 1 to March 15 (5:00 PM)

• Students residency status will be checked for each student application.
• Graduate tuition waiver support is awarded through the colleges/schools. Submitting a waiver application does not guarantee support. Check with your graduate program coordinator regarding award status. 
• Tuition waivers do not cover undergraduate courses or any fees.
• Students must reapply every semester to renew tuition support.
• Tuition support  shall not exceed the number of hours required to complete the graduate program.
• Approval of this award does not imply eligibility for financial assistance from the university, the state, or the federal government.
• Awards may vary each semester due to budget availability.
• Failure to fulfill any of the award criteria will result in the tuition support amount being withdrawn/reduced. The student may be subject to repayment to the university for the amount of the award.
• Graduate students receiving VA Chapter 35 DEA program benefits are not eligible for further in-state tuition support.
• Graduate in-state tuition waivers cannot be combined with graduate out-of-state tuition waivers in the same semester.
• Out-of-state tuition waivers are only offered to students enrolled as full time students (9 cr. hr. Fall or Spring).

Tuition Support applications are reviewed by individual graduate programs. Graduate Studies does not make the awards. Check with your graduate program for tuition waiver support status.

Application open for Graduate Studies Scholarship Fall: April 1 to June 15 (5:00 PM) Spring: September 1 to November 15 (5:00 PM) Summer: January 15 to March 15 (5:00 PM)

 To apply for the Graduate Studies Scholarship:

• Students must submit a complete application by the deadline date; incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
• Eligible students must be admitted to an FGCU degree-seeking Master's or Doctoral program by the scholarship application deadline.
• Awards are determined based on student financial need as calculated by the results of their FAFSA application and/or through supplemental information provided by the student.
• Students must be enrolled in at least 6 Master's or Doctoral credit hours by the end of the add/drop period (1st week of classes) to receive this scholarship.
• Applicants must be willing to represent FGCU's Graduate programs by volunteering for at least two Graduate Studies events (Orientation, Open House, Research Day, Graduate School Fair, etc.).
• This scholarship is only for one semester and not guaranteed in subsequent semesters. Students should submit a new application every semester to be considered for a new award.

LAC Graduate Scholarships are awarded during Fall and Spring semesters to admitted and returning graduate students. Summer: scholarships may be available.

 Criteria for Award

• Awards will be based on merit or special talent (artistic, athletic or professional).
• Students must be admitted to FGCU as a graduate degree-seeking student.
• Students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as defined by U.S. immigration regulations.
• Students who are enrolled as distance learning only are not eligible for this program. Students in accelerated programs are not eligible.
• Students must be approved to study in the United States with an F-1 visa.
• The student must be a citizen or legal resident of one of the countries listed in the "LAC Scholarship Countries" tab.
• Students must satisfy one of the following: GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent; minimum entrance exam score as required by graduate program for admission; demonstrated special talent (artistic, athletic or professional).
• Subject to availability.
